Basically its been ages since I have posted something. And to be honest my posts aren't those that would interest people. Lots of things has been happening with my life and I might post about it.
Here is a synopsis of what has been happening...
Johnnie Walker Join The Pact Campaign.
As most people know, Johnnie Walker has started a Never Drink And Drive Campaign with Mika Hakkinen, Lewis Hamilton and the Caparo T1. It is a race between Hakkinen and Hamilton to gather as much signatures as possible. Hakkinen visited Malaysia to get his signatures over 3 days in Kuala Lumpur.
How does this connect with me? Well *self absorbed* I got the pleasure to be an intern with a PR company (Compass Communications) who was helping with the event. Seeing all the behind-the-scenes work was definably something I won't forget.
Day 1: It was basically the press, mags and media etc who were invited to see the unveiling of the Caparo T1 with also a bit of Q&A.
Day 2: In the afternoon there was the demo run which happened around Sunway Pyramid. A few lucky celebs and winners were chosen to ride in the Caparo T1 with their designated driver Mika Hakkinen. In the evening, it was the party (there always has to be one) and so everyone can put the Never Drink and Drive rules to practice.
Day 3: This is when the real run happened in Sepang F1 Circuit. Other celebs, winners and media were chosen to ride in the car with Hakkinen. Soon people noticed that only 1 lady got to ride in the car that day.
All in all it was an extremely meaningful message that was put across to people. As the passengers got out of the Caparo T1 each of them basically said: The Caparo T1 is such a fast car that you do need someone like Mika Hakkinen to be in control. So people stay in control and get a designated driver.
Shark Week.
In conjunction with Discovery Channel Shark Week, Ean from hitz.fm did a dive at KLCC Aquaria. Since JJ from hitz.fm chickened out, I took his place and dived as Spiderman.
It was quite a small world as the diver who was in charge of Ean and I learnt how to dive from the same dive master and me. He then made Ean and I watch two videos about the fish in the tank. Once we entered the water I have to admit that the tank was rather small for all those sharks and fish.
Overall it was a fun experience.
James Richardson Logan.
My family and I were invited to the revealing of the plaque to the statue of James Richardson Logan in Penang, Malaysia as we are related to him. J.R. Logan was a lawyer who helped that people of Penang with human rights etc. He died due to malaria as he loved to travel a lot. He also helped to name Indonesia as people were going to name it something else.
It didn't take so long to do the whole speeches, revealing etc etc. It actually went rather quick. Everyone was then invited for tea at a restaurant just a few steps away from the statue.
Thanks to the Penang Heritage Trust for making the effort to keep the memorial statue.
Its not the best of updates and explaining about events but maybe I might upload pictures of each one.
